Drivers Education and Covid-19

We have resumed our behind the wheel, road test, in person evaluations at this time and in person classes.

All students must provide their own mask and it must be worn during all services. Will also be doing temperature checks and sanitizing.  We are adhering to the CDC guidelines for safety protocol. Students who have been exposed, high risk and/or are feeling ill in any way should not attend any in person services. We are still offering our comprehensive drivers education, defensive drivers course, DUI and Alive@25 live via zoom as well for students who would prefer distance learning.  Please call or email to schedule and with any questions. We are here to serve.

Thank you! ~ The Nathan's Driving School Team

We take the health and safety of our employees and clients into serious consideration. With that being said, we will continue to offer virtual Comprehensive Driver's Education, Defensive Driving (DDC), Alive@25 and DUI courses live at the scheduled times on our site. We WILL begin a safe and slow rollout of other services including road tests at our location, private behind the wheel lessons and medical/senior evaluations. The date for Road Testing to begin will be May 1st and priority will be given to clients we had already scheduled that had to be cancelled. We will then take on any clients who have completed the minimum of six hours of in car lessons with us. Please contact the office at 770-454-9100 or at to schedule and answer any questions. We will be sending health and safety protocal to our road testing students prior to their test. The tentative begin date for behind the wheel lessons and evaluations to resume is May 11th. You may schedule for anytime after May 11th. by contacting the office. We will be monitoring the health situation in Georgia and will update on services as needed. Thank you for your patience and for choosing us (and remaining with us) during these trying times.

Nathan, Rachel and the Nathan's Driving School Family and Staff

The department of driver services remains closed at this time and we are still following the governor's shelter in place mandate which has been extended so all courses are virtual until further notice.

We will be offering a virtual program for students with special needs.

Please contact us at or call 770-454-9100 to find out about registering for this.

We are now running our live virtual classes for comprehensive driver's education and DDC. Sign up today and take classes from the safety and comfort of your home. The department of driver services has approved this method until July 1st and will review and extend if needed. Sign up for summer now! As high schools in Georgia are now closed, you can register to join any of our upcoming virtually live classes. Contact us if you have already started a course and we will let you know where you need to begin. All zoom invites will go out the day prior to class via email.

You can also support our small local family business by buying a gift certificate here which can be used at any time

Hello All! Just want to update everyone. Currently all DDS offices are closed. We are not offering 1:1 or in person lessons or programs right now. We are offering classes virtually for DDC, Comprehensive Driver's Education, Alive@25 and DUI. Our office is open remotely and we will be able to answer calls and/or emails. For all of our public and private school programs, we will be awaiting decisions from each individual school on how to continue the programs. No matter what, we will find a way to serve your needs now or in the future for whatever you have signed up for. Please contact us for more details and please continue to support our small business. We are all in this together!

3/20/2020 -

It is difficult to say...Due to the current situation and based on what is best for our staff, students and the overall community health wise, we are suspending all in person services at this time including 1:1 behind the wheel lessons. We will still be offering our virtual programs. The Department of Driver Services has also suspended road testing during this time. We will update you as soon as we know more information about when testing and lessons will resume.

We are a small family business and this will be difficult for us and our staff but we will still be here and when this is over, we hope our past, current and future clients will still be a part of our driving school. We have weathered many storms and though this one is unprecedented, we will make it through. We are very grateful to all of our instructors and staff who have been very supportive and understanding and are doing their best to keep us afloat.  Thank you for being there  ~Rachel and Nathan

The State of Georgia has given us permission to go virtual for classrooms. We will be able to hold our currently scheduled classes virtually for students. Students will need to be able to login at the same times that the classes would have been held. Stay tuned for more information as the day goes by. We will be updating currently registered students. For students who do not wish to attend virtually at this time, you may postpone and take an in person class as soon as in person classes resume. All currently enrolled students will be able to transfer to a class held after this quarantine period with no change fees and we will be adding additional classes in the coming month or two to accommodate the changes. Some of our private behind the wheel lessons will still be occurring 1:1 on an individual, case by case basis as will 1:1 private road testing. Any individual who is ill and/or has been exposed to someone who is ill is asked to please not attend any behind the wheel lessons or road tests.

We will be available via phone 770-454-9100 or email at to answer any questions. We ask that you please be patient and understanding as everyone is in this together and we will do the best we can. We are impacted like everyone else, especially as a small business and we want to do the right and ethical thing. Thank you.

All programs in Dekalb, Fulton, Cobb, APS and Gwinnett are on hold at this time for both our private schools and public schools. We will be holding classes later when the schools are back in session. We are also in discussion with the state on distance learning and will update if that happens.

We are still holding small classes at our Chamblee/Brookhaven and Roswell locations and 1:1 behind the wheel lessons. We ask that students to do not report if they are ill or have been exposed to anyone who is. We will not be charging change fees for classes or cancellation fees for behind the wheel for illness. Please be patient as we along with everyone else in the world, are taking it as a day by day basis and will do what is best for our clients, employees and the welfare of everyone.

Dear Nathan’s Driving School Clients and Future Clients,

With Coronavirus in the news and the situation changing daily, we wanted to ensure you that the health and safety of our students and instructors is a priority.

We are monitoring the situation closely and will be making decisions on a case by case basis in regards to closures and cancellations. In regards to schools, if a school we are currently holding a program in suspends classes, then we will follow that school’s protocol. We are not able to provide distance learning but we will be able to hold classes at a later date and will make up any lost time.  In line with guidance provided by the health authorities, we are using Lysol and other disinfectants to keep our cars and classrooms clean. We have also provided our instructors with hand sanitizers and wipes for use in the cars with each student.

We have shared specific instructions with our employees on the importance of washing their hands and staying home if they feel sick or are returning from an area of the world identified as posing a coronavirus-related risk. Per CDC recommendations, we will ask employees who have traveled to such locations or have been exposed to others who have traveled to such locations to self-quarantine for 14 days.

For the health and safety of both of instructors and students, if you are a client and have become ill or exposed to anyone who has become ill, please do not attend class or lessons. We will not be charging change fees or cancellations due to illness or exposure during this time.  Again, this is an unprecedented situation so we are taking it one day at a time.

We will continue to closely monitor the situation and do all we can to protect you and our employees. You can follow us on our website, social media or reach us at 770-454-9100 or

Thank you,

The Nathan’s Driving School Staff
